Leeds TUSC supporters, including several of our candidates, held a protest outside the Leeds office of Care UK in solidarity with their striking workforce in Doncaster who have been transferred from the NHS and now face pay cuts of 35%. The workers, organised in Unison, have taken 20 days of strike action so far against this assault on their pay.

The protest was part of a national day of action with other protests outside Care UK offices nationally as well as Doncaster TUSC lobbying Ed Miliband over his, and other local Labour MPs, lack of support for the strikers, where over 50 joined the protest.
In Leeds, we handed out leaflets to pasers by who were overwhelmingly supportive. At one point we had non-stop toots of support from passing cars and lorries. With the strikers preparing to take a further 2 weeks worth of strike action, its clear whose side the public is on!
